  4. Change passwords — banking, email, all accounts
  5. Check credit reports — ClearScore / Credit Karma — both free

1. Chargeback (debit/credit cards)

  • No minimum spend
  • Bank reverses the payment
  • Must act within 120 days

2. Section 75 (credit cards £100–£30,000)

  • Card provider is equally liable
  • Claim up to £30,000
  • 6 years to claim

3. APP Reimbursement (bank transfers)

  • Mandatory from 7 Oct 2024
  • Refund within 5 business days
  • Up to £85,000
