🌱 Start here — the essentials
Every family's starting point. Five habits that do more than any single app setting:
- Talk regularly, without judgement — make online life a normal topic, not a lecture. Ask who they talk to, what games they play, what feels weird.
- Agree family rules together — screen times, shared spaces for devices, no secret accounts, and what to do when something goes wrong.
- Keep accounts private — private profiles, no public posts, no location sharing, and review settings whenever a new app is installed.
- Strong unique passwords + 2FA — a password manager for parents, and two-factor authentication on every account that offers it.
- Teach the pause — before sharing personal information, photos, school details or live location: pause, think, ask.
