Good Monday morning, Britain. Hope you had a proper bank holiday weekend. I'm here with Alex, and today we're looking ahead at the week, what's coming, what to watch for, and how to keep you and your family safe. Morning. So, Monday means a fresh start, but I hear there's a big software update coming this week. What's the story? That's right. Microsoft is expected to release a massive batch of security fixes, nearly 400 holes plugged in one go. That's a lot of patches, and it tells you how hard the bad guys are working. 400. That sounds overwhelming. What does it mean for the average person? It means one thing, when those updates pop up on your computer, don't hit remind me later. Take the 10 minutes, restart, get it done. It's the single best thing you can do this week. Got it. But I saw something about fake cloudflare checks. What's that all about? Ah, that's a sneaky one. Scammers are putting up fake prove you're humans pages that look like the real cloudflare check. But when you click through, you're actually downloading a nasty backdoor that lets them into your system. So even clicking a capture can be dangerous. How do we spot the fakes? Good question. If a site you don't recognize asks you to complete a check before you can see anything, stop and think. Real cloudflare checks are automatic, you tick a box and move on. If it asks you to download something or run a script, that's a massive red flag. And what about the ransomware site that's live? I heard there's something active on the dark web that could affect UK folks. Our team spotted a live ransomware leak site. They're using it to pressure victims. Leak sites are where criminals dump stolen data if you don't pay. The key is, if your data's in there, paying doesn't guarantee it goes away. So what's the play if you get hit? Don't pay. Report it to action fraud, change your passwords, and let the experts handle it. And remember, if you've got backups, you're in a much stronger position. Good advice. Also, there were a couple of WordPress plugin flaws that could let someone take over a whole site. Should small business owners be worried? Yes, if you run a WordPress site, check your plugins today. Five critical flaws were found. If they're not patched, someone could get in and take control. Update your plugins, and if you don't recognize one, delete it. And finally, what about the Berlin hackers? They refused to pay. Was that the right move? That's a big debate. Berlin held firm and didn't pay. Me? I always say, paying feeds the machine, and there's no guarantee you get your data back. Better to focus on prevention and recovery plans. So our takeaway for this week is… Patch everything, watch out for fake CAPTCHAs, and back up your stuff. Simple as that. You've got this, Britain. Stay safe, and we'll see you tomorrow. Thanks, everyone. And remember, if it sounds too good, or too simple, it's probably a scam. I'm not going to tell you it. It's helpful. But I haven't started reviewing the fact that you're going on to fall. We'll see you tomorrow. Yes, basically, take care of what you're looking for if it works.
